5 Ways to Personalise Your Office Space … Professionally!

We spend a lot of time at work. So knowing how to decorate your office space is essential, but it can be tricky! You don’t want it to be to over the top, but you also don’t want it to be plain. So how do you find the balance? Below are 5 ways you can personalise your office space, professionally!

 1. Artworks

This is the quickest and most simple way to decorate your office, add a touch of character and all the while staying professional.

There are plenty of places to buy artworks and plenty of places to buy frames too. And fear not these don’t have to be on a big budget!

When looking for artworks you may want to Google ‘free downloadable art’ because you never know what will crop up! Plus businesses like me often give away this kind of thing as a freebie when joining our club or mailing list. I personally give away a new downloadable art print at least once a month so it’s worth keeping an eye out for offers like that if your budget is small.  These artworks can just either be printed by you. Or for a very small cost at places like Officeworks – this is my favourite way to do it as their printers will always be way better quality than a home one. A brilliant way to build up a gallery wall in your office!

 2. Plants

Adding some greenery to your office space will instantly give it a more styled look. Furthermore, plants are one of the best ways to clean the air in your space too. Pothos, aloe and jade plants are all great options as they remove toxins from the air and are easy to care for. There are many that survive in low light too so do a little research to get the one that is perfect for your space. And if all else fails a little faux never hurt anyone!

 3. Lighting

Often offices have horrendous florescent overhead lighting which is not only ugly but completely uninspiring too! Adding in softer side and desk lamps will bring with them a warm vibe that will also help your eyes and you will even probably find you have less headaches! It’s called mood lighting for a reason – it creates the perfect mood (even when you’re at work!).

 4. Accessorise with Style

Office storage and equipment need not mean ugly black files and grey staplers these days. Gorgeous, stylish stationery is everywhere in every colour of the rainbow. And this doesn’t have to break the bank either. There are so many shops that bring out their own ranges so get hunting and let your imagination run wild!

 5. Personalise ( but not too much)

It’s perfectly ok to make your desk your own and add some personal touches. A gorgeous basket instead of an in-tray, a beautiful cup & saucer you use for your afternoon tea, a photo frame with your favourite quote in or an up-cycled jar or vase for storing your pens. All amazing ways to make it your own. Just make sure you avoid having a photo framed of you & your S.O in swimwear from your last holiday!
